Smaller AquaDams in relatively shallow water can de deployed into modest currents water by manual workers in the water wearing
appropriate safety equipment. In this mode the AquaDam can be deployed into a variety of shapes such as Cs or dog legs.

The technique for deploying larger Aquadams is termed a Rope Deployment. This method is suitable for all sizes of dam where the
installer wishes to avoid the use putting personell into the water.

The method involves rolling out a short length of dam which is then filled to full height. Once this is achieved a further short length is allowed
to unroll and the Aquadam is again filled to capacity/full height. This cycle of roll and fill can become almost continuous.
Deployment control lines and anchor points.
In this deployment the tension on the two right hand
control lines is much greater than that applied to the left
hand lines. Because the Aquadam is inflated to its full
height it is not swept away by the current.
A diagram showing a cross section of
an Aquadam being installed in flowing
water.

Notice the location of the berm, pumps,
ropes, labourers and the inside water
head pressure, compared to the
outside water levels.
The Aquadam is "steered" using control lines as can be seen in
picture to left.

Good control must be exercised; as the Aquadam closes the
opposite bank the water flow is choked and accellerates.

River flows must be catered for through over pumpng, flume
pipe, flow diversion.

Rope deployment is suitable for straight line deployments only.
